DEPUTY PROVOST

ECWA College of Nursing Sciences Egbe, Kogi State, was founded by Dr George Campion, an SIM Missionary, in 1955. The College is established with the vision to provide quality nursing education and training with Christian ethos to future nurses and midwives. The College is situated in Egbe, a major intersection between Kogi and Kwara States, on a 40-acre medical complex with an Academic Campus and Residential Campus. The College currently offers Basic, Post Basic Nursing and Midwifery programs to a student population of 400. To further sustain this mandate, the College is seeking qualified candidates for the positions of Deputy Provost. This position is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning, leadership, and strategic development of the College.

Job Description

  • Shall be responsible to the Provost for the efficient day to day running of the College.
  • Shall deputise for the Provost in his/her absense.
  • Works in collaboration with the Registrar to implement operational, administrative, and academic plans and policies to ensure that quality educational services are being delivered.
  • Acts as liaison in communicating and collaborating with administrators, faculty, students, and other constituents in the delivery of high educational standards.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Master’s Degree, PhD in Nursing is an added advantage.
  • The candidate must be registered and licensed to practice by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • The candidate must have at least five (5) years of post-registration experience as a Nurse/Midwife Educator.
  • Ideal candidate must possess sufficient evidence of continual scholarship and contribution to knowledge through research and publication in reputable journals.
  • Possess a proven track record of leadership and administrative experiences in a related environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to work effectively and collegially with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; effective interpersonal skills and sensitivity to issues affecting a wide range of constituencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high quality education and curriculum development and faculty development. He/ She must also have an understanding of legislation and compliance issues that affect personnel and the delivery of quality educational services to students.
  • A working knowledge of information and communication technology, with capacity to support the implementation of a technology platform for the College.
  • Applicant must align with the values of ECWA, and be a person with outstanding moral character, and integrity. Applicant must uphold Governing Document and ECWA Constitution and Byelaws.
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) years to retirement from active service from the date of submission of application.
