LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and analyses, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our research and development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting a range of laboratory tests and analyses, including sample preparation, data collection, and interpretation of results.
  • Guiding students on the analysis of laboratory test results.
  • Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Documenting all procedures and findings in accordance with established protocols and quality standards
  • Assisting in the development and validation of new testing methods and procedures
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the College Management and Governing Council.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree/ HND in science laboratory technology.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a college laboratory, research or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment, including analytical instruments, pipettes, and other specialized tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and precision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and identify solutions.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety protocols and regulations, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Be proficient in computer skills.
  • Have strong organizational skills.
  • Applicant must not be more than 45 years old.
