The ECWA College of Nursing Sciences, Egbe, recently concluded its maiden Staff Retreat, marking a significant milestone in the history of the College.

Held from 30th to 31st July 2026, the two-day retreat brought together members of staff for a time of spiritual reflection, learning, fellowship, team building, and meaningful conversations on the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between family responsibilities and professional excellence.

The retreat, which was the first of its kind in the College, was organized around the theme, “Building a God-Centred Home While Excelling at Work,” with Judges 4 as the scriptural reference.

The retreat provided an opportunity for staff members to step away from their regular routines and reflect on their roles, responsibilities, relationships, and the values that guide their lives and work.

One of the major highlights of the retreat was the emphasis on the connection between personal faith, family life, and professional responsibilities. The sessions challenged participants to recognize that success at work should not come at the expense of a healthy home, while also encouraging staff to pursue excellence in their professional duties without losing sight of their God-given responsibilities to their families.
